Ubuntu I Am Because We Are
Ubuntu — from the Nguni Bantu term meaning “I am because we are” — embodies the belief that our humanity is tied to the humanity of others.
In this heart-centered sculpture, Franco Castelluccio captures a circle of joyful children united in friendship and community. Their expressions and posture convey the essence of Ubuntu — a philosophy rooted in compassion, interdependence, and shared purpose.
The children surround a basket of fruit, symbolizing abundance that grows through unity. Together, they stand as a universal reminder that we thrive not in isolation, but through one another.
The Ubuntu sculpture is available as a 12-inch tabletop edition and as a life-size monument, ideal for educational institutions, public art programs, and cultural spaces celebrating diversity and human connection.
