"Boys of Dozier"- Florida Industrial School for Boys- Marianna,Florida

This memorial honors the lives and legacy of the boys of the Florida Industrial School for Boys in Marianna, now known as the Dozier School for Boys. Commissioned as a permanent public work, Franco Castelluccio’s sculpture series serves as a solemn tribute to the victims who endured decades of hardship and injustice at the institution.
Each bronze figure conveys both innocence and resilience — a quiet, humanized reflection of those who never returned home. Through meticulous craftsmanship, emotional realism, and profound respect for the survivors and families, Franco transformed remembrance into form.
The Dozier Boys Memorial, unveiled in Marianna, Florida, stands as a lasting symbol of acknowledgment, healing, and historical truth. In conjunction with the memorial, fifty grave markers were installed at Boot Hill Cemetery on the former school property, ensuring every life is remembered.
